The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the unexpected postponement of the upcoming elections in Punjab on Wednesday, citing security concerns as the primary driver behind their revision to the original April 30 schedule.
On April 30, Punjab was supposed to hold its general elections.
President Arif Alvi announced the date for the Punjab elections after consulting with the Pakistani Election Commission in light of the Supreme Court’s split decision from last month. (ECP).
