A 48-year-old woman’s body was discovered washed up on a beach after she fell overboard from a ship.
Ebla Yusuf went missing on July 22 after boarding the Commodore Clipper for a trip from Portsmouth to the Channel Islands.
However, police have now revealed that Ebla’s body was discovered on a beach in Seaford, East Sussex, on July 29.
A huge search and rescue operation was initiated after the 48-year-old failed to disembark in Guernsey.
Prior to the unfortunate discovery, this involved planes from the United Kingdom and France, as well as Channel Islands Air Search.
“It has now been confirmed that this was the body of Ebla Yusuf,” a spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary stated.
“Her family has been notified, and the case has been forwarded to the Sussex coroner’s office.”
“On July 29, at 9.30 p.m., Sussex Police discovered a body on a beach in Seaford, East Sussex.”
Her death is not being investigated as a homicide.
According to police in Jersey, she boarded the ship on July 22.
The last sighting of her on the Condor ferry was then at around 2pm that same day while it was still in UK waters.
