Mohammad Amir, a former Pakistani pacer, has been chosen by the Durban Qalandars for the upcoming inaugural Zim Afro T10 competition.
Cricket fans from around the world eagerly anticipated the draft ceremony for the event, which took place in a grand ceremony in Harare.
Durban Qalandars made headlines during the draft by bringing in four well-known players to their team for the occasion.
Along with Amir, the Qalandars also hired Asif Ali, Tahir Baig, and Tayyab Abbas, strengthening their batting order with strong hitters and adept shot-makers.
Five teams—the Durban Qalandars, Cape Town Samp Army, Bulawayo Braves, Harare Hurricanes, and Joburg Buffaloes—will compete for the Zim Afro T10 championship.
The tournament is slated to begin on July 20 and conclude with a grand final on July 29. All of the games will be played at Harare Sports Club Ground.
Lahore Qalandars revealed a ground-breaking alliance with Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) and T10 Global Sports last week in order to develop cricket’s next generation of stars.
Through the first Player Development Programme (PDP), which will be held in Zimbabwe, this exciting partnership seeks to find and develop promising cricketers.
