On June 22, the first Hajj flight carrying pilgrims from Dubai to Saudi Arabia is expected to take off, followed by a second flight two days later.

Mohammed Al Marzouqi, the Head of Terminal Business Support and the Head of the Hajj Committee at Dubai Airports, explained that they are collaborating with four airlines, two of which are from Dubai and two of which are from Saudi Arabia.

Airlines like Emirates, flydubai, Flynas, and Saudia are among the partners. 3,100 Emiratis in total will leave for the Hajj from Dubai International Airport (DXB), along with a sizable number of UAE expats.

Al Mazrouqi claimed that because non-Emiratis are flagged as regular passengers flying to Saudi Arabia and not as Hajj pilgrims, Dubai Airports does not monitor the data for non-Emiratis traveling for the Hajj.

The official further stated that all travel restrictions placed on the Hajj two years ago have been lifted by Saudi authorities. They are preparing for heavy traffic in this regard, he said.

E-visas have recently been made available by the Saudi Foreign Ministry for the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, Bangladesh, India, Philippines, and Indonesia. This action will increase the amount of incoming traffic.

DXB has also introduced a number of facilities to enhance business during the Hajj season. For Hajj flights, these include dedicated departure gates, expedited passport control and security procedures, and special check-in counters.
