Police claim that a Texas man who was dressed as a woman took pictures behind a stall in a mall restroom and then fled the scene while brandishing a pepper ball gun.
Charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper photography are brought against 45-year-old Douglas Egan.
On Christmas Eve, about 4:30 pm, a female victim at the Hulen Mall in Fort Worth found the cellphone under the stall.
The suspect, who was described as “a male who was costumed to look like a girl,” was stopped by the woman as he tried to exit the shopping centre.
The defendant allegedly reached into his backpack, pulled out what seemed to be a revolver, and aimed it towards the male witness who had watched the altercation and tried to step in.
After changing into a different outfit, the suspect exited the shopping centre with a weapon visible in his waistband, according to the police.
When police arrived, they detained the man. The weapon was identified as a pepper ball gun.
On a total $30,000 bond, Egan is being held at the Tarrant County Corrections Center. A lawyer who may represent him in court was not included in the jail’s records.
