Former Donald Trump, the current president, declared he would run for office in 2024. He did, however, decide not to take part in the opening Republican debate.
Donald Trump isn’t present at the opening Republican debate; why?
Donald Trump made the announcement that he wouldn’t be attending the first Republican debate of the year on August 21, 2023.
Trump stated via Truth Social, “The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had.”
He cited CBS during his justification and added to his followers: “New CBS poll, just out, has me leading the field by ‘legendary’ numbers.”
“Therefore, I won’t be participating in the debates!
“Neither Reagan nor anyone else did it. People are aware of my stellar record—among the BEST EVER—so why would I debate?”
The first Republican debate in 2023 will be moderated by who?
The first Republican debate is being co-moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, two Fox News anchors.
On Wednesday, August 23, at 9 p.m. EST, the debate is anticipated to be broadcast live on the aforementioned network.
On Sunday Night in America, MacCallum said, “One of the things that you really want to accomplish here is to give people a chance to share with the audience what they would do to make the country better.”
“We really want people to leave the debate on Wednesday night with a better understanding of all these participants, and perhaps their eyes will be opened to one or two of them who they would like to hear more from.”
“I believe that moving this process forward in a way that people feel is edifying and that they are more interested in Thursday morning after is the main goal, to be honest.”
“I believe that listening is very important because if you don’t pay attention to the response to your question, you won’t be aware of whether or not they have sidestepped it.’
“And I believe that frequently, people only want to hear a yes or no response.”
“[We’re] the ones who have to keep it moving, hold people accountable to the question, and make sure that the viewers and the voters, who are the most significant component of the evening, are actually receiving an answer to the question,”
The night is not about us, she continued. The focus should be on these candidates because the evening is about how the Republican Party will select its nominee.
Our task is to elicit from them in the most direct and difficult manner possible how they would approach the very serious issues that the nation faces.
When is Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson?
Trump reportedly decided to be interviewed by Tucker Carlson rather than promote his presidential campaign during the first Republican debate.
Rumor has it that the debate will take place right before Trump’s interview with the former Fox anchor.
