Don West, a renowned pro wrestling announcer who was most known for his work with IMPACT Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action, has died at the age of 59 following a protracted battle with cancer.
West’s longtime on-screen collaborator and fellow pro wrestling announcer Mike Tenay announced the news. Tenay posted on Twitter, “Just heard from [his] wife Terri that our brother Don West will be spending New Years in heaven.” “Terri stated D-Dub ultimately had to submit to lymphoma in his match. As broadcast partners and friends, we immediately connected when we first met. Years of wonderful on-camera and off-camera moments.
Two voices you could trust, two voices that made every single second they called better with their passion, enthusiasm and knowledge.
On this special night, we pay tribute to our original announce team – the legendary @DonWestDeals and @RealMikeTenay. #Slammiversary pic.twitter.com/NeyVX2T9pq
