If you’re one of the internet-obsessed dwellers who keeps track of such things, you’ll no doubt recall the first Disney+ Day in November of 2021. By cramming all the most thrilling trailers, first looks, and news into a daylong celebration and providing fans with a veritable buffet of content (ugh), the special online event, created to celebrate Disney’s flagship streaming service’s first anniversary, was meant to leave viewers feeling as satisfied and stuffed as those unfortunate children in “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.” We all, um, are aware of what transpired next to them.
The event this year will take place tomorrow, which is closer than you would have expected. The not quite third-anniversary celebration of Disney+ will provide a new selection of gifts and privileges for the fans, likely moved up by two whole months to further bolster the impending D23 exhibition — there’s nothing the conglomerate loves more than #brandsynergy, after all. Starting tonight, September 7, at 9 p.m. PT, until Monday, September 19, at 11:59 p.m. PT, the company is providing both new and existing customers with the opportunity to sign up for one month of Disney+ for $1.99.
In the Mouse House’s never-ending effort to overwhelm us all with IP, the studio has revealed a wide range of advantages for Disney+ subscribers, just in time for the D23 Expo to get underway later this week. Disney is also providing a number of extra treats and rewards beginning on September 8 at 12:00 am PT/3:00 am ET in addition to the brief price reduction (which, lest we forget, was preceded by the news that Disney+ subscribers would see prices raised on them this December to account for new ad-supported tiers). Consume at your leisure!
