According to a source, a missing Georgia woman was discovered dead in a ravine after sending her daughter $2,385 and the ominous message, “They are not going to let me go, love you.”
Debbie Collier, 59, was last seen leaving her Athens home in a rented SUV on September 10, two days before her body was discovered, according to 11Alive.
According to the TV station, Collier’s daughter, Amanda Bearden, reportedly informed police that she had only her driver’s licence and a debit card when she left her home with Collier, whose car was in the repair.
A Habersham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team spotted Collier’s rental car after the SiriusXM satellite radio was tracked to US 441 near Victory Home Lane, some 60 miles from Collier’s home.
According to 11Alive, Bearden’s missing-report person’s indicated that her death may have been the consequence of a kidnapping, and investigators are examining it as a homicide.
The 36-year-old daughter reported that Collier had abruptly sent her $2,385 through Venmo along with the remark, “They are not going to let me go, love you,” to Athens Clarke County police.
