Two city robbery victims were shot over the weekend while resisting violent muggers in separate situations, according to police. One of the victims was a tourist from Denmark who was walking on the Upper West Side.
Around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, an armed robber approached the 31-year-old foreign traveller and demanded his cell phone at West 103rd Street and West End Avenue, according to police.
On his way home from a party, the victim disobeyed and made an attempt to leave, according to the authorities.
“He just kept walking, and the guy shot him,” a police source said.
The visitor, who was born in Argentina and now calls Denmark home, was shot in the back, according to the authorities. He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in good health.
According to authorities, no arrests were made right away.
Earlier on Saturday about 11:40 p.m. in the Woodstock neighbourhood of The Bronx, a 46-year-old man was approached by an armed robber in front of 928 Trinton Ave., according to police.
The victim was wounded in the leg as punishment for refusing to give the thief his wallet, phone, and cash, according to the police.
“He was approached by an unknown male who demanded property and shot him when he refused,” a police source told The Post.
