In a strange accident early on Monday in The Bronx, a 17-year-old kid was killed after he slipped while standing on top of a parked trailer, fell under the wheels of a passing vehicle, and hit his head, according to police.
The moving tractor’s lowboy trailer’s exposed rear tandem wheels are where Daniel Hernandez of Manhattan landed after falling from the top of the box trailer, according to a statement from the NYPD.
It was unknown what the teen was doing on top of the trailer or what brought him down.
According to the NYPD, before being ran over, his body “pinched between the moving back wheels.”
The 42-year-old tractor driver remained on the scene. The incident is not subject to any charges, according to police.
A 65-year-old pedestrian was hit by a hit-and-run car in Canarsie on Sunday night and died as a result, according to the NYPD.
The victim, Ali Alshawesh of Canarsie, was struck by a 2014 grey Nissan Pathfinder that was travelling south on Remsen Avenue when it made a left onto Avenue M.
