Dania Malik, the third wife of well-known TV host and anchor Aamir Liaquat Hussain, has requested that her husband be exhumed and put through a postmortem at the Sindh High Court,
Malik retained legal representation at the hearing in the Sindh High Court about the late TV anchor’s family’s request to stop the autopsy after his burial.
A post-mortem request for Hussain was submitted to the Sindh High Court on behalf of the attorney, who said that Malik, Hussain’s widow, must be aware of the cause of Hussain’s demise.
Justice Iqbal Kalhoro questioned Malik’s attorney about this and demanded to know who was interfering with the postmortem.
“Why is the family inconsolable? This is not a matter of personal preference; it is a matter of law “Added he.
Advocate Zia Awan, who represents the family of Aamir Liaquat, revealed to the court that while one judicial judge permitted his burial based on the police report, another magistrate ordered an autopsy at another person’s request. The call for an autopsy has been contested by the son and daughter.
Even the assassinated PPP leader Benazir Bhutto’s autopsy, according to Awan, was never completed.
Everyone laments that Benazir Bhutto’s postmortem was not conducted, according to Justice Kalhoro.
According to the court, it will decide after hearing from everyone and will give the petitioner’s attorney a full hearing.
Aamir Liaquat was a wonderful person, and Dania Malik’s mother said that the widow has a right to know the reason for his passing during the hearing.
The family’s attorney was questioned by the court on why a postmortem wasn’t performed.
For the upcoming hearing, the court instructed the parties to show up prepared.
