Utah man jumps into river to save woman
A couple from Utah, United States, helped a woman survive after she attempted to take her own life in what might be described as a moment that changed their lives. Dane Entze, 36, went on a weekend excursion with his husband last week to mark their anniversary. On their way back from the party, the couple decided to stop at Idaho Falls’ John’s Hole Bridge because they had spotted some odd behaviour near the river. Entze’s spouse spotted a woman operating a vehicle on the ramp boat, and she was astounded when she saw the vehicle accelerate into the Snake River.
Entze ran down the ramp and dove into the freezing water to save the woman who was about to drown as the spouse dialled 911 to request emergency assistance. Entze told the media, “When she noticed the car moving into the water, she had her eyes fixed on the boat ramp, looking down from the bridge.
Entze managed to scale a barbed wire and leaped out of the automobile, sprinting down the ramp. He was so determined to save the woman that he simply jumped into the icy water to pull her to safety, despite the risk and his anxiety of doing so. Entze told the woman that she wanted to die, and she started swimming towards him after witnessing him try to save her. Entze, who saw the difficulty of the situation, assured the woman that despite not knowing her, she is loved and that he will make every effort to assist her. Entze swam about 120 feet from the ramp to pull her woman back up as the woman’s car entirely submerged in the water.
Soon after, 911 responders brought the woman to the hospital for medical attention and more mental health testing. The Idaho Fire Department Officer said, “We want to express our gratitude to Dane Entze, the Good Samaritan who risked his own life to rescue a stranger’s.
