After broadcasting on ABC for nearly 20 years, Dancing With the Stars season 31 comes to Disney Plus. The celebrity dance off is Disney Plus’s debut live programme.
The ABC television programme Dancing With the Stars made its premiere in June 2005 and quickly rose to prominence, despite a recent decline in viewership.
DWTS still has appeal for Disney Plus, which is looking to grow its subscription base with new programmes even though it may not be the juggernaut it once was. Additionally, although Dancing With the Stars’ audience is primarily made up of women and elderly people, the Marvel and Star Wars franchises tend to draw younger, more male viewers.
The usual mix of actors, singers, and athletes can be seen in season 31 of Dancing With the Stars. Movie star Selma Blair, comedian/actor Wayne Brady, former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, and drag queen Shangela are among the celebrities on the cast.
Along with new co-host Alfonso Ribeiro, Tyra Banks will serve as host once again. Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough will be on the panel of judges.
The two greatest changes for this season are that the Disney Plus broadcast will be ad-free and that fans will be able to cast their votes live across the nation for the first time.
