At the Islamabad Airport on Friday, customs officers seized 250 high-end mobile phones worth Rs. 60 million.
Customs officials claim that officers stationed at Islamabad International Airport seized 250 expensive imported mobile phones, including iPhone 11, 12, 13, and 14, valued at Rs 60 million, and detained two passengers as a result.
Due to bad weather, the PIA flight 216 from Dubai, which was intended to land in Peshawar, was diverted to Islamabad. According to officials, Mohammad Abbas’ 139 phones and 111 other passengers’ phones were seized by customs agents.
According to sources, passengers are allegedly using Customs employees’ complicity to clear expensive goods at every airport, and the department hardly ever detains offenders.
