Due to the bitter cold, the Sindh government has adjusted the start and end times of all state-owned and private schools throughout the city.
The morning shift will start at 8:30am for all primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools, according to a notice posted here.
The statement stated that the new times will be in effect until March 31.
According to the Met department, a cold wave is expected to last until January 29 in Sindh, including Karachi, with nighttime lows plummeting another 2 to 6 degrees Celsius.
According to Sardar Sarfraz, chief meteorologist of PMD Karachi, the lowest temperature ever recorded in Karachi was 7 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning.
He said, “The northern winds blowing in the city at a wind speed of 14 km/h.”
The city is likely to see chilly, dry weather over the next days, and another cold wave is anticipated during the first week of February, according to chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz.
