Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa inaugurated the Chaklala Cricket Ground, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
“The cricket ground was upgraded to provide state-of-the-art sports facility to cricket fans, especially to the youth of Rawalpindi and Islamabad,” added the ISPR.
“The ground will be available to students and cricket clubs of the twin cities to promote the game of cricket and provide a healthy sports environment.”

The army chief also praised the Rawalpindi Corps’ efforts in restoring the ancient cricket field and giving the city a first-rate cricket facility.
Gen. Bajwa previously paid a visit to the Military College of Engineering (MCE) in Risalpur and expressed his appreciation for the role that engineers played in counterterrorism operations.
Additionally, he paid a visit to the School of Armor and Mechanized Warfare (SA&MW) Nowshera and opened a newly constructed Tank VT4 training facility. This facility will offer an advanced training system to train Armoured Corps officers and soldiers on the recently introduced tanks.
