A woman has talked about the heartbreaking reason she left her hometown: she was still subjected to “judgement” and “body shaming” because of the way she looked.

Digital content maker Clara Dao aims to produce material for thin and small-chested women.

The blogger, who has over 150,000 Instagram followers, frequently publishes articles to encourage women to feel more at ease in their own skin.

She wants to demonstrate that thinner ladies with smaller breasts can still be beautiful by producing body-positive content for them.

She frequently shares photos that show off her thin waist, but in a more recent post, she shared her harrowing story of coming to terms with her physique.

Clara revealed in the heartbreaking post that she recently had to cut short a trip to her hometown because too many people were “grading her body.”

She said, what made it tougher, was that some of the criticism came from her family and she said she experienced constant “body shaming” and “judgement.”

Clara opened up about the matter as she said her mental health has been in a “rocky state”, and she wanted other people to know that they shouldn’t let other people’s thoughts about their body image impact how they feel.

Writing on Instagram, Clara said: “I took a long break from social media.

“My mental health was at a rocky state.

“I came back to Vietnam – ‘my home’. And faced with exactly what made me leave 7 years ago.

“The body shaming. The judgement. The vast differences in beliefs.

“I couldn’t understand why people are still like that. Why they feel the need to judge my body, what I wear, the things I say and do.

“It hurts when it’s your own parents who do that. It’s unbearable.

“I felt like after all I’ve become and achieved, I’m still not enough for them and there’re still so many things they want me to change and to ‘be better’.

“After the first week of being home, I wanted to leave. So I left.”

She continued: “I was busy traveling to different places, just so I don’t have to be home hearing what I don’t want to hear.

“Cause words from the people you love really have a way to break you.

“The busier I made myself to be, the more overwhelmed I felt.

“My routines were all over the place. I felt like a mess most of the time. My creativity, my drive, my motivation, all went out the window.

“I felt so burnt out, from everything and everyone around me.

“The thing that woke me up from all this was when I realised I started disliking some parts of my body…

“ME!! The girl who’s all about body positivity, was judging my own appearance and wanting to change things?!

“That was the turning point for me.

“I left Vietnam and came back to Canada.

“I ended the trip a month earlier than I thought, I just had enough.

“I needed to get back to a healthy environment for my mental health. I needed to get back to my routine and stability.

“I needed to be by myself.

“I’m writing this post because I want you to know that if there’s someone in your life that makes you feel bad about yourself because of their judgment and their unwillingness to accept you, it’s NOT your fault.

“There’s nothing wrong with you. And as much as you want them to change, it’s most likely they never will.

“So do what you need to do to feel better. Distance yourself from them, and put your mental health first.”

Clara has gained a lot of online support since disclosing her own struggle.

Nearly 200 individuals commented on the post, and more than 8,000 people loved it.

Someone once observed, “I constantly have to remind myself that our parents, grandparents, and extended family have significant problems.

“With us, the shift begins.”

Another said, “You’re an inspiration.

“You can’t make people change. Nobody else but you.

A third person added: “I really appreciate you sharing this with us, Clara.
