After her dead newborn was discovered discarded in a trash can outside a corner store, a mother was taken into custody.
Cindy Nicole Crow, 36, was placed under arrest on a $200,000 bond after authorities in Alabama claimed to have received a tip that the trash can at Wally World Mini Mart needed to be examined.
Cindy, who is thought to be eight months pregnant, was asked to have her well-being checked by Decatur police on Monday by a worried family member. According to accounts, the relative informed police that she thought Crow had given birth but was unsure of the baby’s location.
A deceased baby girl was discovered inside a trash bag in the store’s trash can beneath numerous other bags of rubbish when detectives arrived on Tuesday. In order to ascertain the cause of death, the baby’s body was brought to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville.
“As the investigation progressed, evidence was obtained that confirmed Crow had been pregnant as early as February 2023 and had recently given birth. However, her newborn baby was unaccounted for,” police said in a statement.
