Christine Severino, a mother of five from New Jersey who was born in Pennsylvania, was killed in an automobile accident in Tredyffrin Township on Saturday, Jan. 28, according to her family. She was en route to her second job. She was 41 years old.
According to her obituary, Chrissie, as her friends and family called her, was born in Upper Darby and eventually earned degrees from Widener University and Delaware County Community College.
Her obituary states that she was a pharmacy technician who first established herself in Eddystone Borough, where she reared her five children, Kailee, Ceaira, Joshua, Carleigh, and Mason, before moving on to Pennsville.
The communities she leaves behind are now taking action to make sure her children are cared for. Chrissie’s friend Machele Kortum launched a GoFundMe account a few days after her passing to support the family during this difficult time.
The campaign has so far raised an astounding $42,000 as of this Thursday, Feb. 2. Machele hopes that this money will assist the family as they “put the pieces back together.”
According to her obituary, Chrissie’s loved ones will always remember her as a fun-loving and devoted mother who liked family vacations to the coast, neighbourhood get-togethers, and nights out at the casino with her closest friends.
Chrissie Severino leaves behind her father Ron Severino, grandmother Marianne Batchelor, two sisters Jaci and Roni, a brother Nick, and a large number of devoted family members in addition to her children.
“Everyone will feel the hole left by her passing,” family members wrote in her obit. “She was one-of-a-kind.”
