Alcohol, cannabis, and amphetamines were all detected in the system of the panicked driver who was fatally shot by police after dialling 911 for assistance.
Christian Glass, 22, was shot five times by police after even attempting to make heart-shaped signals for assistance.
Prosecutors have now identified the officer responsible for his death as Clear Creek County Deputy Andrew Buen.
The 29-year-old Buen was back on patrol a few days later and is still working.
He is not seen on the bodycam film that was made public, although it appears that the accused was captured on the bodycam of the alleged murderer.
Buen may or may not face charges in the wake of the continuing inquiry into the tragic shooting. According to Glass’s parents, murder was the cause of his death.
He was shot on June 11 in Denver, Colorado, according to the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office, after becoming “argumentative and combative” with law enforcement.
His parents, Sally and Simon Glass, claim that deputy Andrew Buen, whose name was given to him by prosecutors, was the one who fired the deadly rounds.
The deaths of their sons have been referred to as “murder” by Sally from Kent and Simon from New Zealand, who have both asked that the sheriff take the matter seriously.
They claimed that their kid used Ritalin to treat his ADHD, which may have helped to explain why amphetamines were found in his system.
After Glass dialled 911 after his car crashed on a country road and asked for assistance, the two sides engaged in a one-hour standoff.
A second deputy was dispatched to the location to look into the homicide, and he spent the majority of the inquiry with his body camera muted.
According to an autopsy report made public on Tuesday, he was stabbed by himself five times and sustained superficial knife wounds.
