In China, Changan has introduced the Qiyuan A07 EV. It is a sizable sedan that can be configured as a battery electric vehicle (BEV) or an extended-range electric vehicle.
The details state that the EV’s all-electric model can travel 710 kilometers on a single charge. 258 horsepower is the maximum output of the powertrain.
Changan’s new EV line is called Qiyuan, formerly known as OX. In the coming days, the automaker plans to introduce its new energy vehicles (NEVs) under this brand. This new entry into the market seems a little strange given that Changan already has two NEV brands, Deepal and Avatr.
Five variations of Qiyuan will exist by 2025. Changan Uni-V and Changan Lamore (Yida), although rebranded, are other variations.
The Qiyuan A05 and A06 have replaced the Uni-V and Lamore. It’s interesting that these cars only come with EREV powertrains. The only vehicle in Qiyuan’s lineup with an electric variant is A07.
A thin LED running lights strip, retractable door handles, sizable five-spoke alloy wheels, and a slanted roof give Qiyuan A07 a sleek appearance.
The generic appearance of Qiyuan A07 is caused by its resemblance to BYD Han, Nio ET7, Rising F7, Dayun Yuanhang Y6, and other models.
The D-shaped, two-spoke steering wheel of the A07 is adorned with the Qiyuan emblem in the center. According to Qiyuan officials, this logo is binary code.
The center console houses a floating screen that is 15 inches wide. Two cup holders and two wireless phone charging stations are located in the middle tunnel of the screen. The interior of the A07 has a lovely wooden accent, and the roof and front pillars have microfiber trim.
The Qiyuan A07 and Deepal SL03 share the EPA1 platform’s powertrain. A 1.5-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine with naturally aspirated combustion that has 88 horsepower powers the EREV.
For the all-electric version, there are two 218 and 258-horsepower e-motors available. There are two battery options: 58 kWh, which has a 515 km range, and 80 kWh, which has a 710 km range.
A07 has a staggering price tag of Rs. 8 million. Although the A07 appears to be a worthy rival to the Tesla Model 3 given its features.
