Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has been removed by the federal government from his position as Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore.
The 21-grade officer was told to report to the Establishment Division in a notification for the removal of the CCPO Lahore.
According to sources, CCPO Lahore was fired from his position after filing complaints against prominent members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Javed Latif and Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Ghulam Mahmood Dogar was appointed as the capital city police officer (CCPO) for Lahore on July 29 by the government, taking the place of Bilal Siddique Kamyana, who was moved to the centre shortly after Parvez Elahi was chosen as the chief minister of Punjab.
The BPS-21 officer Ghulam Mahmood Dogar formerly held the position of CCPO Lahore, where he vigorously pursued criminal groups.
Dogar, who is regarded as a diligent, trustworthy, and professional police officer, has started a fierce campaign against land speculators.
Marriyum Aurangzeb, the information minister, and Javed Latif, a top PML-N leader, were both charged with terrorism on Monday in Lahore for allegedly “using religion to instil and promote enmity” against PTI leader and former prime minister Imran Khan.
An imam from a nearby mosque submitted the first information report (FIR) at the province capital’s Green Town Police Station on behalf of a citizen.
Sections 9 (punishment for conduct intended or likely to incite sectarian hatred) and 11X-3 were used to file the FIR (responsibility for creating civil commotion). The complainant charged Javed Latif of deliberately instigating the populace while working with Marriyum Aurangzeb and other individuals.
The FIR also claimed that the PML-N leader received the complete support of Pakistan Television (PTVtop )’s executives.
