PRIOR Carlos Guerini, a standout for Real Madrid and Argentina, passed away at the age of 74.
The former striker earned three league titles with Real Madrid while playing for a number of prestigious teams.
Before departing Los Blancos in 1979, he played for the team for 85 games, scoring 11 goals. He joined in 1975.

Although he also scored 23 goals in 48 games for Belgrano, Malaga decided to sign him after he scored eight goals in 16 games for Boca.
Although he did not make the final team, Guerini, widely known by his nickname Chupete, scored the game-winning goal to send Argentina to the 1974 World Cup.
After his time at Real Madrid ended, the attacker went back to Argentina before quitting football in 1985.
