A Florida lady was taken into custody after making 12,512 calls to police stations this year.
According to a court document, Carla Jefferson, 51, “harasses, belittles, shouts at, and debates” anyone who answers her repeated calls to the non-emergency lines of the St. Petersburg Police Department and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
This year, 10% of all incoming calls to the St. Petersburg Department have come from Jefferson, according to officials.
Jefferson contacted the precinct 512 times in a 24-hour period last month. The affidavit characterised the calls as “vulgar, threatening, or obscene.”
Every call that comes into the communications centre of the police department is answered. Every day, call takers deal with hundreds of help requests and crises.
According to Fox 13, spokesperson Yolanda Fernandez stated, “They’re talking to folks who are afraid, who are on the worst day of their lives because they need police.” “On top of that, they also have to deal with someone who is contacting them solely to bother them.”
Officials state For real callers, Jefferson’s ringtone rampage has been clogging up the lines. Jefferson frequently uses “extreme expletives” and “sexual innuendos” in his conversations.

According to the affidavit, once the precinct received confirmation that the affidavit had been received, Jefferson called and demanded that police arrest her because she “loves playing this game.” When police arrived, she would not answer the door.
For abusing the 911 system and making harassing phone calls, Jefferson was charged with three misdemeanours.
