A 40-year-old father was killed in a car crash after being trapped underneath his own vehicle while his son and a buddy were inside due to an off-roading mishap.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol log, the accident happened on September 10 at 1:25 pm. in Kansas’ Bourbon County. Since then, Caleb Hopkins of Kansas City, Missouri, has been recognised as the guy.
The tragedy occurred while the drivers were off-roading, which involves driving on unpaved surfaces including sand, gravel, dirt, snow, or boulders, according to sources.
“It is with deep sadness and very heavy hearts that we inform you of a tragic accident at KRocks yesterday where we lost a friend in an off-roading accident,” the off-roading venue posted on Facebook. “We ask that each of you keep Caleb Hopkins’ wife, children, family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
On-site medical personnel declared Hopkins deceased. Both his nine-year-old son and another 12-year-old youngster were in the vehicle, but they managed to escape without suffering any serious injuries.
All of the passengers were, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol, buckled up at the time of the accident.
The National Traffic Safety Administration estimates that 42,915 individuals perished in motor vehicle traffic accidents last year, an increase of 10.5% from the previous year. In the history of the Fatality Analysis Reporting System, that represents the biggest annual percentage increase.
