By Elections in 13 constituencies postponed by Election Commission of Pakistan. The Election Commission has postponed the by-elections of 13 constituencies of the National Assembly have been postponed.
The members of the Election Commission, the Secretary of the Election Commission, and senior officers of the Election Commission attended a crucial meeting of the ECP, which was presided over by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
The Secretary of the Election Commission informed the Election Commission during the meeting that the Election Commission had provided a schedule for the by-elections, according to which voting would take place on September 11, September 25, and October 2, 2022, in the following constituencies in Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Among the constituencies in which the election has been postponed are NA-157, PP-139 Sheikhupura, PP-241 Bahawalnagar, NA-22 Mardan, NA-24 Charsadda, NA-31 Peshawar, NA-45 Karam, NA-108 Faisalabad, NA-118 Nankana, NA-237 Malir, NA-239 Korangi Karachi, NA-246 Karachi and PP-209 Khanewal.
These constituencies’ by-elections were set for September 25, whereas those for the NA-157 Multan, PP-139 Sheikhupura, and PP-241 Bahawalpur are scheduled for September 11.
The national emergency has been proclaimed as a result of the recent catastrophes and floods in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and South Punjab, according to the Secretary of the Election Commission. In addition, structures have been destroyed and the transportation system has been interrupted.
