The Chief of General Staff of the UK Army, General Sir Patrick Nicholas Yardley Monrad Sanders, met with the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, General Syed Asim Munir, on Wednesday at General Headquarters (GHQ), and he expressed his gratitude for the Pakistani Army’s contributions to the fight against terrorism and its efforts to advance regional peace and stability.
After arriving at the GHQ, CGS UK Army laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. According to a press release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the guard of honor was presented to the distinguished guest by a suitably attired force of the Pakistani Army. The summit covered issues of common interest and regional security challenges.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, had previously received a visit from the CGS UK at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
