Cash App inventor Bob Lee, who was violently stabbed on the streets of San Francisco, had cocaine, ketamine, and other narcotics in his system at the time of his death, according to an autopsy.
Bob Lee, 43, was stabbed twice on April 4 in a violent crime, and a fresh report indicates he died from his many wounds, according to the San Francisco Medical Examiner.
According to an autopsy report obtained by the New York Post, the software engineer died with cocaine, ketamine, and cocaethylene, a chemical created by the simultaneous intake of alcohol and cocaine, in his system.
His blood also included amounts of the antihistamine levocetirizine, which is used to treat allergies.
Nima Momeni, 38, who was arrested and accused with Lee’s murder last month, is due in court today.
According to reports, the IT consultant is a knife collector and “super into weapons,” and he allegedly targeted Lee following a dispute involving his sister, Khazar Elyassnia, who is married to a cosmetic surgeon.
On the night of his death, he is believed to have visited the dealer’s flat with the sister of the guy suspected of his murder, 38-year-old Nima Momeni.
According to prosecutors, Momeni questioned Mr Lee about his sister, Khazar Momeni, asking if she had been doing “anything inappropriate” or using drugs.
According to authorities, the couple was seen in a vehicle at around 2.30 a.m. on the night he died. However, officers were called to Main Street in the city just minutes later and discovered the tech mogul bleeding out.
In the disturbing video, he stumbles through the streets and is seen on the phone to 911 when a bystander sees him and drives away, despite the father screaming with the vehicle for aid.
“Please help,” he pleaded the driver. “I was stabbed by someone.”
Mr Lee collapsed on the ground before rescue personnel came and discovered him bleeding.
The father was transported to the hospital, but he died from his injuries later that morning.
Who is Nina Momeni?
The 38-year-old is a University of California graduate and the founder of the information technology consulting firm Expand IT, which he founded in April 2010.
He formerly worked as a consultant and systems engineer for a number of San Francisco-based firms, including Marfic and Coast Range Technologies.
The suspect resides in Emeryville, California, a city in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He was previously accused in Alameda County with selling a switchblade in California and drove while his licence was suspended.
Mr Momeni was also arrested for drunk driving in 2004.
The next year, the tech head pled no contest to the suspended licence charge, and the knife allegation was withdrawn.
He was sentenced to 10 days in jail, three years of probation, a $900 (£700) fine, and was told to destroy the knife.
According to one neighbour, he was “super into weapons” and had a collection at home.
