Tragically, a woman was discovered dead in a department store restroom four days after she went missing.
Bessie Durham, 63, a janitor for KBS, a facility management business, was found dead in the washroom of the Belk department store, which surveillance video showed her entering four days earlier.
Durham passed away naturally, according to Margaret Fisher, coroner for Lexington County, South Carolina.
No foul play is suspected, Columbia City Police stated to The U.S. Sun, but friends and relatives have claimed that a lot of red flags were missed since her body wasn’t discovered sooner.
A spokesperson for Blek further confirmed to The U.S Sun that Durham “provided housekeeping services through her employer, an outside contractor company”.
“First and foremost, we send our deepest condolences to the family of Bessie Durham, who was found inside a family restroom at our Columbiana Center location,” the spokesperson said.
“We are actively working to piece together what happened. Meanwhile, we have also made counselors available to associates seeking support”
The department store was located inside a shopping centre where Durham allegedly cleaned every business.
According to WIS, the restroom was designated as “out of order” as of Wednesday and was not accessible to the general public.
In a statement to PEOPLE, the cleaning business, KBS, extended additional condolences.
