The long-awaited inter-city Green Bus service was finally launched by the Balochistan government in Quetta to provide its citizens with high-quality transportation options.
Dr. Faisal Khan, CEO of the Balochistan Public Private Partnership, expressed his enthusiasm for the inauguration. “It’s the first time that such a service has been introduced in the history of Balochistan,” he declared.
Eight buses are part of the pilot project, which runs on several city routes, including Airport Road, Zarghoon Road, Sariab Road, and Balochistan University.
The program is a part of the government’s broader initiatives to improve public transportation and encourage environmentally friendly modes of transportation. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, it was approved.
An important turning point in Quetta’s transportation system has been reached with the launch of the service. For the past 30 years, the provincial capital had dated public transportation with only seven bus routes.
The gradual expansion and addition of new routes will probably enable a greater number of daily travelers to use the new service.
