The daughter-in-law of senior journalist Ayaz Amir was found dead in the Chak Shehzad area Islamabad, police said on Friday.
According to police, the woman has been identified as Sarah and was allegedly killed by her husband, Amir’s son, at home.
According to a police official, forensic teams and senior officers of the Islamabad Police are on the scene.
“The incident is being investigated; whatever facts come out, will be shared,” police said.
Initial reports state that Shahnawaz allegedly struck his wife in the head with a gym-grade dumbbell.
Shah Nawaz, Amir’s son, has been detained in connection with his alleged involvement in the homicide, according to the police.
