According to authorities, a corpse has been discovered in the hunt for a lady who vanished while out with her dog.
Ausra Plungiene, 56, of Prestatyn, North Wales, was last seen on Tuesday at around 10.30 a.m. when she is said to have went for a walk with her dog Eyora but did not come back.
Her car was discovered in a rural parking lot in the Rowen region in the early hours of Wednesday, according to North Wales Police, after a coordinated search over Eryri national park (Snowdonia) was conducted after the alarm was raised shortly before 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
A woman’s corpse was discovered on Thursday by members of the mountain rescue team close to Yr Aryg in the Carneddau mountain range, according to a force spokesperson.
Although formal identification has not yet been done, Ms. Plungiene’s family has been notified that a live dog has been discovered at the scene, according to the police.
“Finally, I would appeal for Ausra’s family to be afforded some privacy during the coming days.”
Teams of searchers continued their hunt for Ms. Plungiene despite snowfall and violent gusts.
She is believed to have been on her way to Snowdonia for a walk, but when she didn’t get home at 10 o’clock in the evening, her family called the police. In the early hours of the next morning, police found her automobile.
Black leggings, blue shoes, and a dark pink or purple padded jacket are thought to have been Ms. Plungiene’s attire.
Toma Plungauite Lamb said: “My mum is the most beautiful soul, who would do anything for anyone. So I’m asking for anyone with any information to come forward to bring our mummy home.”
Numerous rescue volunteers have been searching the region where the 56-year-old mother and her black Swedish lapphund named Eyora were last seen in Snowdonia.
On Tuesday morning, the two had left for the highlands above the Conwy Valley.
Her absence coincided with nighttime lows of almost zero degrees and a yellow weather alert for wind, rain, and snow on higher territory in parts of Wales.
She is a skilled mountain hiker who was properly outfitted for the weather, according to the police.
