India defeated Sri Lanka by 41 runs in their second Super 4s match at the R. Premadasa Stadium to advance to the final of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.

With only a win over Bangladesh under their belts and a humiliating 228-run loss to India in their second Super 4s match, Pakistan is in third place.
Rohit Sharma, the captain, scored yet another valiant half-century as India batted first and set a target of 214 runs on the spin-friendly surface.
Dunith Wellalage, a 20-year-old spinner, continued to be a standout performer for Sri Lanka, taking five wickets while giving up 40 runs, and Charith Asalanka, a part-time spinner, claimed four.
The home team responded by scoring 63 runs in partnership after being 99 for six. Dunith Wellalage and Dhananjaya de Silva then showed some resistance in the middle.
With four wickets to help his team limit the opposition to 172 runs in 41.3 overs, Kuldeep Yadav once again maintained his position as India’s top performer.
