According to his preliminary postmortem report on Thursday, veteran journalist and television anchor Arshad Sharif passed away from his wounds over 30 minutes after being shot in the head and chest.
At the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad, a post-mortem examination of Arshad Sharif’s body was carried out by an eight-member medical board.

The initial postmortem report states that “bullet wounds to his head and the right lung were the reasons of his death.”
Dr. Muhammad Irshad Hussain, Dr. Nasreen Butt, Dr. Umar Farooq, Dr. Altaf Hussain, Dr. Muhammad Farrukh Kamal, Professor Mumtaz AK Niazi, Professor Lal Rehman, and Professor SH Waqar made up the eight-member medical board.
Last Sunday, the Kenyan police shot and murdered Sharif, a well-known TV host and investigative journalist, in a “mistaken identity” incident close to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
He was buried earlier today at Islamabad’s H-11 graveyard. After the journalist’s funeral prayers were said in Islamabad’s Faisal Mosque under heavy security, he was laid to rest.
Numerous individuals, including members of the journalism fraternity, came to the funeral prayer for Sharif.
