Nearly two weeks after the hunt for the men started, the bodies of three missing rappers were discovered in an abandoned apartment.
The three men, Armani “Marley Whoop” Kelly, 38, Montoya Givens, 31, and Dante “B12” Wicker, were found on Thursday (February 2). They were supposed to perform on January 21, but they postponed it and then vanished.
The remains were discovered in a Detroit apartment building in Highland Park.
Updates on the case were posted on Twitter by the Michigan State Police.
They tweeted: “Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident and more than likely will be there throughout the night.
“As of now, we haven’t confirmed the identity of any victims inside or a manner of death.”
Givens’ mother Cat Fogle verified to The Detroit News that she received word of her son’s passing from the police on Thursday afternoon, February 2.
“They told me they found the three bodies,” said Fogel. “I don’t know what I’m going to do; how I’m going to bury him.”
The 38-year-old Kelly planned to play at open mic nights and hang out with friends instead after informing his fiancée Taylor Perrin that the performance had been postponed due to equipment issues.
All three of the victims’ phones reportedly stopped sending data the morning following the cancelled event, according to a prior WJBK investigation.
Four days after Kelly’s mother Lorrie Kemp reported him missing on January 23, Givens and Wicker’s families learned that all three men knew one another after viewing a news broadcast.
Speaking to WJBK, Perrin said: “I just beg for help, for anything. I need answers and, if it comes to it, I need closure, because I will never forget and I will never stop.”
As she tweeted that her son had met Givens and Wicker in the Department of Corrections and bemoaned the efforts made by the police, Kemp described how all three men knew one another.
“Yes these young men were at DOC but they didn’t deserve this!
“Shame on the police shame on the whole state & shame on u Detroit. If only 1 police dept. would have listened maybe we would NOT b here!,” Kemp said.
