A Florida gym instructor who was arrested in February for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old student has been arrested again on suspicion of having an improper connection with another youngster from a separate school where he taught.
Following Arin Hankerd’s original arrest, other girls came forward to accuse him of inappropriate behavior.
He has now been charged with enticing a 17-year-old girl to his house in Ormond Beach, where he is accused of groping her and having her perform oral sex on him.
According to criminal records acquired by the Daytona Beach News-Journal, the former schoolteacher sent the youngster suggestive Facebook messages, such as inquiring what color underwear she was wearing and seeking intimate images.
Hankerd taught physical education at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach until going to Atlantic High School in 2021.
Prosecutors claimed Hankerd was free to continue his twisted machinations and sought a new and younger adolescent pupil to abuse, leading to his arrest for the relationship with the 15-year-old.
Hankerd was apprehended when his claimed victim’s mother read the girl’s notebook, which documented the predatory connection.
Prosecutors claim Hankerd began paying the student lunch in December, but the connection quickly deteriorated once he began sending her obscene photographs on Instagram a month later.
The gym teacher had allegedly been warned multiple times about his weird conduct over the years.
In the last three months, at least 30 women have come forward with information, including four who claim to have been harmed.
Following his arrest in February, Hankerd was immediately suspended.
Following Hankerd’s second arrest, a judge ordered that he should be detained in jail without release until his trial because he agreed with the state attorney’s office that he is a risk to the community.
