With split tongue and completely black eyeballs, a body modification enthusiast admitted she was “addicted” to the discomfort.
Due to her contentious bodily alterations, which include tattooed eyeballs, Anu Karki, a 25-year-old tattoo artist from Nepal in South Asia, is referred to online as a “emo punk.”
She remembers being “obsessed” as a child with body alterations and piercings, having had her first one at the age of 15.
Since then, she has undergone a variety of stretchers (tunnels), had her tongue cut in half, and had her favourite modification—completely black ink—done to her eyeballs.
Being the first female in Nepal to have this, Anu said, “I fall in love with my eyes every time I see them. I feel so proud.”
I felt ill for at least a week, therefore my split tongue was the most uncomfortable body modification for me.
“Since I operate my own studio and no longer pay for these tattoos, I am unsure of how much I have spent overall.
I got my first tattoo on myself approximately five years ago, and I had a modification done about five months ago.
Anu says she has already spent 365,000 Nepalese Rupees (£2,386) on her different modifications and plans to have her complete body tattooed and altered.
She stated: “A tongue tattoo will be my next body modification, but it will take some time.
