According to reports, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) cheated the government out of Rs. 1.4 million, according to the Anti-corruption Establishment (ACE). Due to the presence of illegitimate documents, the allocation of 27 plots in Johar Town, Lahore, has been suspended.
LDA officers engaged in these illegal activities have been the target of legal action by ACE. By using phony documents and Shahid Munir’s influence, these plots were purchased by Shahid Munir, who then gave them to Zaheer Ahmed.
Significant corruption and irregularities were made public in a previous scandal involving the sale of pricey land owned by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) in Baldia West, Karachi. A “fake challan” transaction was used to sell a 4-acre parcel of land. In Gulshan-e-Zia, Orangi, more irregularities were found in the sale of KMC land. This fake challan was used to sell this four-acre plot of land.
According to reports, from 2004 to 2016, this particular piece of land was used to dispose of animal waste. The management of the land was given to the KMC Baldia West section in 2002, following the implementation of the Town Municipal system. The KMC land reportedly has a market value of over Rs. 1 billion, but it was allegedly sold for a significant discount using phony challans.
