Three young girls were molested and sexually assaulted by an ex-Met Police officer who was described as “PREDATORY.”
One of the girls was only 13 years old when Anthony Smith, 56, committed his crimes between 1993 and 1997.
He was a police officer at the time, but he was fired from the department in 2004 after being found guilty of gross indecency with a kid in a different case.
In 2020, a victim came forward to report that he had also abused her, sparking a new investigation.
After being convicted guilty of 13 counts of rape and indecent assault at Guildford crown court, Smith, of Weybridge, Surrey, was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
The punishment, according to Matt Cable of the Surrey Police, “reflects the breadth of his predatory behaviour in the manner he targeted young girls.”
