First-year student Anna Jones, 18, was allegedly killed off-campus early on Saturday, July 30, by a University of West Georgia professor.
Richard Sigman, 47, is accused of killing the student, whose loss the university is mourning. Sigman has reportedly been arrested and charged with homicide, aggravated assault, and having a gun while committing a crime, according to Carrollton PD. According to official sources, Anna Jones was killed in the restaurant parking lot after the former professor and she had a contentious conversation.
This is 18-year-old Anna Jones. Carrollton PD says she was shot and killed by a college professor. Her friend Ethan sent me this pic of her, saying she "was a beautiful, sweet, caring girl…There are so many good qualities, no one could list them all." @cbs46 pic.twitter.com/VrRops2qK9
