Amy Richardson, a star of BODYBUILDING, passed away after battling illness.
Her sponsor verified that the powerlifting competitor passed away at the age of 49.
Officials at CJ’s Elite Competition Suits said their hearts were “left heavy” following the bodybuilder’s death.
They said: “She always had a big smile, a laugh, and a sarcastic word. We will miss her so much.”
The exact cause of Richardson’s passing is still unknown.
According to Generation Iron, she battled pneumonia for weeks before passing away.
Earlier this week, the IFBB ace told fans that she had received antibiotics as she suffered from a “nauseating” stomach.
And, she shared a picture of a bunch of bright flowers that she had received.
Richardson captioned the post: “I literally almost cried!”
“Made my day… Now I can somewhat tolerate being here over the weekend.”
She described in a December post how a rash that appeared all over her body left her in discomfort.
The athlete also claimed that she contracted pneumonia and the flu while she was in Vegas on Christmas Day.
Richardson frequently posted images and videos of herself exercising in a gym.
She tweeted a throwback photo from maybe her 10th or 11th birthday in November along with a more recent image.
She said: “Almost 40 years between photos. Who knew this was the road I would be taking when I arrived in this great country? I wouldn’t change a thing… bad or the good.”
