The discovery of a note sent by the woman’s accused killer lover led to the finding of her remains 10 months after she disappeared.
The fragmented remains of Alexis Gabe were discovered on Thursday afternoon by a Plymouth, California, resident.
On Monday, authorities declared that the 24-year-remains old’s were his.
“Due to the nature of the condition of Alexis’ remains, and the lack of her full body, we do believe the remainder of her remains are scattered in various areas,” officials said.
“Due to the condition of Alexis’ remains we realize there may never be a full recovery of her.”
In Oakley, Alexis vanished on January 26, 2022.
Police thought Marshall Jones, her boyfriend, killed her at his Antioch home, it was subsequently revealed.
But up to this point, no one has ever found Alexis’ body.
In Seattle, Washington, during a confrontation with the police as they attempted to capture Jones for the murder of Alexis, Jones was slain in June.
In his apartment, he allegedly charged the officers with a knife.
According to local officials, Alexis’ remains were discovered in a location that Jones frequented in the hours and days following her initial disappearance.
