Sen. Katie Britt of Alabama was with her family in Montgomery when she abruptly began to experience facial numbness, according to a statement from her office on Monday. She was then taken to the hospital.
This past weekend, I was visiting my family in Montgomery when I suddenly started to lose feeling in my face. I was checked out at Baptist Medical Center South. My symptoms, according to doctors, were caused by a facial nerve swelling that was most likely brought on by a post-viral infection. As an outpatient, Britt was examined by a specialist at UAB who agreed with the diagnosis and course of treatment. Although not life-threatening, my condition may take several weeks to recover from. I am appreciative of the medical staff’s excellent care, and my family and I are sincerely appreciative of your prayers, the statement said.

The junior senator, who is 41 years old, is the first woman elected to the upper chamber and the first senator from Alabama. Britt criticized the Biden administration on Monday for declaring Colorado Springs, Colorado, as the location of the Space Command headquarters. Republican nominee, Britt defeated Democratic nominee Will Boyd and Libertarian candidate John Sophocleus, an Auburn University economics professor.
Senator Katie Britt said that President Biden “has irresponsibly decided to yank a military decision out of the hands of the Air Force in the name of partisan politics.” “There is no question that the Air Force’s choice of Redstone as the preferred basing location was correct solely on the basis of merits because Huntsville came in first in both the evaluation phase and selection phase. The Air Force should have been in charge of making that choice. President Biden is now attempting to award the Gold Medal to the finisher in fifth place. The President is doing his oath of office as our country’s commander-in-chief an injustice and a disservice by blatantly prioritizing partisan political concerns over our national security, military modernization, and force readiness,” she said.
Although Britt now lives in Montgomery, Alabama, she was born on February 2, 1982 in Enterprise, Alabama. Katie’s career began in Washington, D.C., where she served as Senator Richard Shelby’s deputy press secretary and then press secretary. She was the department head at the age of 23. Later, Katie worked at the University of Alabama as Robert Witt’s special assistant. She practiced law after receiving her degree and was employed by Butler Snow LLP.
