The Abu Dhabi-based manufacturer Monarch Holding and the Chinese company EHang Holdings have teamed up to establish the first facility in the Middle East and North Africa to manufacture and operate environmentally friendly, electric-powered aircraft and drones for passenger and cargo transportation.
UAE Electric Aircraft:
The cooperation aims to produce environmentally friendly electric aircraft and drones, establish a command-and-control center to autonomously manage urban air mobility, and provide opportunities to identify and develop Emirati talent in addition to building infrastructure, vertiports, and operating facilities for electric aircraft and drones.
The project improves trade while revitalizing markets and promoting local products by streamlining the movement of goods and items to sales outlets, ports, and airports. The partnership will support the creation of a state-of-the-art infrastructure for vertiports and an autonomous flight management system controlled by artificial intelligence through collaboration with local organizations, supporting sustainable and electric-powered commercial aircraft and drones, and enabling Abu Dhabi to adopt urban aviation technologies.
Monarch is establishing partnerships with the leading producer of electric aircraft as well as a designer and consultancy for urban air mobility that develops and manages the most advanced UAM systems in the world.
