A 15-year-old Michigan girl vanished under “strange” circumstances after failing to come home from school and leaving her cell phone behind, according to investigators.
Adriana Davidson, an Ann Arbor resident, spoke to her family for the final time about nine o’clock on Friday morning while she was en route to Pioneer High School, where she was last seen by friends two hours later, according to ClickOnDetroit.
When his daughter, “Addy,” departed to board a bus, John Davidson last spoke with her; however, she did not return and did not answer his texts.
“We’re going on what, Day 2 now? This is not my daughter,” Davidson told 7 Action News
The worried father called the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office after asking her friends and searching the school for her.
Derrick Jackson, a department spokesman, told the news organisation that “there are definitely some suspect elements to this.”
When investigators viewed the bus’ security footage, they saw that Adriana arrived at school on Friday morning but left shortly after. Friends reported to the police that she was ill.
The girl returned to school at midday, according to further video, but she never entered, according to the news source.
“We have no idea at this point, so that’s why we’re asking for the public’s help,” Jackson said when asked if investigators had any idea where she went.
Adriana’s brother Anthony Lopez said one of the girl’s best friends told him she texted her.
“The text messages between her and her friend are time stamped at 12:26 p.m. where she had texted my sister saying ‘You straight?’ and then Addy responded saying ‘No,’” Lopez told 7 Action News.
.Addy allegedly did not respond when the friend texted “Wym,” which stands for “what do you mean.”
According to the site, who claimed that police possessed the phone, a student discovered Addy’s cell phone on the school’s tennis court on Friday afternoon and brought it to Addy’s best friend.
“As soon as I learned Addy might be missing, I was certain she hadn’t escaped. The phone was a warning sign for me,” Lopez added.
“I know that wherever she’s at, she’s not there willingly,” he said.
Jackson told told 7 Action News: “What teenage girl just wanders off and leaves her phone and doesn’t contact someone?”
The family distributed flyers featuring the missing girl throughout Ann Arbor on Sunday.
