A body has been discovered in the search for a 24-year-old man who left his home earlier this week to go camping and never returned.
Adam Perkins was last seen leaving his home in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, around 8 p.m. on Monday, March 20.
He had gone camping near Great Ayton in North Yorkshire, where his car was discovered on Thursday.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed yesterday that a body had been discovered during the search for Adam.
Formal identification has not yet been completed, but the man’s family has been notified, according to the police force.
“We are very sad to report that we have found a body in the search for missing Adam Perkins, 24, from Sheffield,” North Yorkshire Police said in a statement.
After locating Adam’s car in the Great Ayton area, officers said they believed he was nearby.
A spokesperson for the force said at the time: “24-year-old Adam was last seen and heard from on Monday, March 20, at around 8pm when he left his home address in Sheffield to go camping.
“Officers have since located his car in the Great Ayton area and are conducting searches to find Adam. He has visited the area previously to go caving.”
