Adam Peaty has announced his separation from girlfriend Eirianedd Munroas.
The Olympic swimmer, who participated in the BBC1 dance competition last year, revealed the news this evening on Instagram.
Adam was one of the celebrities who competed on Strictly last year. Adam earned two gold medals and a silver at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
He was partnered with Kayta Jones, who contracted the curse after kissing comedian Sean Walsh in 2018.
“We have enjoyed a wonderful three years together, 2 of those with our gorgeous son George.
“Our priority has always been to provide the happiest and healthiest home environment for him, and right now that means ending our romantic relationship.
“I could not ask for a greater mother for George and I am so grateful to Eiri for her amazing support over the last three years.
“Eiri and George, I’m sorry for letting you down.
“My only interest is for the well-being of our family at this difficult time so I ask that our privacy is respected and I won’t be saying anything further.”
Fans were raving about Adam and Katya because of their hot chemistry.
After their sultry Argentine Tango just a few weeks into the competition, viewers were stunned to see Adam “attempt to kiss” Katya.
It happened just after Eiri showed off her toned stomach in a mirror photo with the tagline “not worried.”
The single mother afterwards posted a TikTok video pretending to cry with the description, “Watching your partner almost kiss another lady live on TV,” to express her horror over the close encounter.
Despite what transpired, Adam and Eiri continued to grow stronger and even took their son on a luxurious vacation to Dubai in December of the previous year.
While they were both students at Loughborough University, the two connected on Tinder.
Eiri studied fine painting while Adam trained in the swimming pools.
After the initial nationwide lockdown, they made their Instagram account official, and it was then made public that they were expecting their first child.
