Abdul Qadir, the director of System Safe City Islamabad, was discovered Saturday morning with a rope around his neck hanging at his Margalla Town home.
Qadir was a grade-19 National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) officer who was on deputation performing his duties in the Safe City project Islamabad, according to the Islamabad Capital Territory Police.
The incident appeared to be a suicide, according to the police, but they won’t be able to make a formal statement until the body has undergone a post-mortem.
Teams from forensic investigation are on the site while the deceased’s body has been sent for a postmortem.
IGP Islamabad has asked the deputy inspector general to conduct a transparent investigation into the occurrence after taking note of it.
