A model and influencer’s ex-father-in-law is charged with planning her heinous murder and mutilation.
Two days after Abby Choi was reported missing on Wednesday, her body parts were discovered in her ex-cooking husband’s pot and his parents’ refrigerator in Hong Kong (February 23).
Following the shocking revelations, four suspects, including Choi’s ex-husband Alex Kwong, 28, their brother Anthony, 31, and their father Kwong Kau, 65, have been detained on suspicion of murder.
Choi, who reportedly had a net worth of about HK$100 million (£11 million), came from a prosperous family with connections to the Chinese market.
She is believed to have helped her former brother-in-law become a homeowner and set up her ex-in-laws and their two children to live in a lavish apartment.
Police claim that Kwong’s father, a former police officer himself, was the mastermind behind the “meticulously planned” slaying that employed tools like an electric saw and a meat slicer.
According to reports, Kwong became furious when Choi tried to sell an apartment registered in his name for about £7.7 million.
The city was astounded by the gruesome details of the alleged murder.
A cooking pot was discovered with what is thought to be Abby’s skull, several ribs, and human hair inside of it.
Superintendent on the scene Alan Chung said: “There’s a hole on the right side rear on the skull, so the pathologist believes that that should be the fatal attack on the victim.”
Pathologists discovered loose human bones on the property, Chung added.
Choi was unconscious when she arrived at the location, according to the police, who believe she was attacked in a car.
They added that they have not been able to find her hands or torso, which are among the missing body parts.
